Yoplait has announced a 25 percent reduction of sugar in each single serve cup of its Original line of yogurts, the latest in General Mills' efforts to provide consumers with category leading better-for-you products. Following Yoplait's removal of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and its discontinued use of dairy with rBGH/rBST growth hormone in 2009, the new reduced sugar Original yogurt will provide fans with the great taste they have come to love and expect from Yoplait.

At the annual Consumer Analyst Group of New York conference in Boca Raton, Florida, General Mills chairman and CEO Ken Powell outlined a clear focus on new growth strategies for the company, which address shifting consumer preferences in food.
General Mills announced its newest lineup of products poised to drive growth for the company. Beginning in January, the company will launch more than 50 new products that meet increasing consumer demand for better-for-you snacks, products with simple ingredients, protein, gluten-free and bold flavors.
French Toast Crunch disappeared from grocery stores shelves in 2006. Since then, fans of the sweet cereal have petitioned General Mills to return the product to the marketplace.

General Mills, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Annie's, Inc., a U.S. producer of branded organic and natural food products with net sales of $204 million in its latest fiscal year (completed March 2014).
