A new survey commissioned and released by Mars Chocolate North America shows that roughly three out of 10 Americans either work or spend a significant amount of time outside in warm weather during the summer months and, of those, a whopping 74 percent are seeking better refreshment opportunities.
Marketers have addressed consumers’ health and nutrition concerns by introducing numerous healthier frozen desserts.

Besides companies that specialize in healthier frozen desserts, most major marketers of ice cream and frozen desserts have at least one product line positioned on the basis of its nutritional profile.
Vie de France Yamazaki, Vienna, Va., says its new individual Tartelette desserts bring a “touch of Paris” to a dessert plate and will prompt restaurant patrons to exclaim, “Delicieuse!”
Researchers say low-fat, creamy desserts and sauces could be made as tasty and visually appealing as their full-fat counterparts simply by adjusting the calcium and acidity levels.
