Vivek Sankaran, who currently serves as president and chief operating officer of Frito-Lay North America, will now become its CEO, and Kirk Tanner, who currently serves as president and chief operating officer of North America Beverages, will become its CEO.

The new hires bring decades of food industry experience to help lead the company’s efforts to grow the iconic Sara Lee®, Van’s®, Chef Pierre® and Bistro Collection® brands following the purchase from Tyson earlier this year.

The board of directors elected Brian Smith to serve as president and COO, effective Jan. 1, 2019. He will report to James Quincey, the company’s CEO. Smith is a 21-year Coca-Cola veteran who currently serves as president of the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) group.

Rich’s has annual sales exceeding $3.8 billion and operates in more 100 locations globally. Its refrigerated and frozen products range from cakes and icings to pizza, appetizers and specialty toppings and it distributes to operator customers in foodservice, retail, and in-store bakery, deli and prepared foods.

The medal is named in honor of the 18th century French chemist, Antoine Laurent Lavoisier, who is considered the father of modern chemistry and served as mentor to DuPont’s founder, Eleuthère Irénée du Pont.
