Maya Kaimal Fine Indian Foods, a dynamically growing, award-winning specialty food company, announced the appointment of John McGuckin as Chief Executive Officer, as of November 2, 2015. McGuckin will be responsible for sales, marketing, operations, finance, and key hires in support of a growth strategy. He succeeds Craig Decker, who drove significant growth during the past three years, and is returning to his native Pacific Northwest home.
McGuckin is a 35 year food industry veteran who has excelled in the field of consumer packaged goods, with executive roles in sales, manufacturing and food broker agency. Best known for his team-building and collaborative style, McGuckin brings a wealth of experience and a wide network of valuable contacts to Maya Kaimal's emerging brand.
As Executive Vice President for Sales, North America at the Sabra Dipping Company, McGuckin successfully pioneered the Sabra brand, leading the transition from a small, niche business to a highly profitable and dominant national leader. McGuckin’s sales organization took the company’s revenue from $10 to $500 million in eight years. He built market share from 5% to 65% of retail; he conceived and executed the innovative – and booming-- “Fresh Dip Destination” supermarket concept; and he established Sabra as a national household staple.
"John brings exceptional executive skills to our team at a time when the ethnic food category is rapidly expanding in all channels," says Founder and Owner Maya Kaimal. "We look forward to John’s leadership and feel he’s an excellent person to help take our brand to the next level.”
