Planteneers’ Plantbaser won a technology innovation award at Plant Based World Expo, Sept 7-8, 2023, at New York City’s Javits Center.

“Two-and-half years of hard work paid off. It’s a great feeling to be rewarded this way,” says Florian Bark, Product Manager Plantbaser. “Our Plantbaser digital product configurator amazed visitors at the Plant Based World Expo in New York.”

Food and beverage processors can utilize Plantbaser, a digital product configurator to develop new product prototypes in just two weeks. For starters, users can put together a desired product in 15 to 20 minutes, even with no prior plant-based knowledge. Test samples are ready to taste two weeks later. And with more than 1,300 recipes to reference, Plantbaser offers the world’s largest selection of plant-based products in multiple categories—from milk and cheese alternatives to deli foods to meat and fish.

“Visitors were very interested and tried out configurating [new products] right at the booth,” says Bark. “My colleagues and I often heard expo visitors say, ‘I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s unique.’”

In addition to its technology, Planteneers also made a big impact in taste—with as many as five products making it to the finals of the Plant Based Food Innovation Awards. In the Meat Alternatives category, Planteneers’ Chicken Breast was “Recommended.” In Plant Protein, Planteneers was shortlisted with its Steak Filet. Its other finalists were plant-based alternatives to parmesan, salmon filet, and salami sticks.

“We’re very proud of this outcome, and we’re looking forward to the coming Plant Based World Expo in London in mid-November,” says Florian Bark.
