Smart Flour introduced two new flavors to its lineup of ancient-grain pizza. The Three Meat is made for the ultimate meat lover. Topped with a robust, traditional tomato sauce, the pizza pairs sweet Italian sausage with nitrate/nitrite-free, spicy uncured pepperoni and bacon for a pie that’s sure to satisfy the taste buds.
The meats are minimally processed and made with simple ingredients. Then there’s the Kale and Sundried Tomato with a Garlic White Bean Sauce. The creamy pizza starts with a sauce of pureed white beans and garlic, offering a lighter and dairy-free take on traditional alfredo sauce with a punch of protein. Hearty green kale is then paired with the sweet tartness of sundried tomatoes and a dash of oregano.
Both culinary-inspired flavors are topped with an indulgent blend of hormone-free, low-moisture and part-skim mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and romano cheeses. In addition, like all of Smart Flour’s frozen pizzas, the new varieties start with a thin and crispy, Non-GMO Project Verified crust made with the brand’s unique, ancient-grain flour blend of sorghum, amaranth and teff.
These naturally gluten-free ancient grains give the pizza a whole-grain taste and texture, plus a healthy boost of fiber, protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals. In keeping with Smart Flour’s commitment to clean ingredients, they’re also completely free of added MSG, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors, along with rice flour and many of the common allergens, including gluten, wheat, nuts, tree nuts, soy, and eggs.
Smart Flour’s new pizza skus will start rolling into retail stores in 2019 for an SRP of $7.99 per 10-ounce pizza.
