National Restaurant Association 2018 Food & Beverage Award (FABI) judges honored Grecian Delight, Elk Grove Village, Ill., for the company’s foodservice Garlic Sauce.

NRA officials say the judged new product competition recognizes “food and beverage products that stand out for taste, creativity and profit potential and will make a substantial impact in the restaurant industry.”

Grecian Delight officials say this vegetarian dip is made with Labna, a single-strained Lebanese yogurt, for a truly authentic sauce. It also is free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.

“A traditional accompaniment to Shawarma, this sauce or dip has widespread application across the menu,” says Grecian Delight. “It may be used as a spread, topping, or dressing and is fantastic as a dip for French Fries.”

Separately, this February also saw Grecian Delight introduce a Jalapeno Hummus. Officials describe it as a “Mediterranean/Mexican fusion that extends potential across menu concepts and works well as a spread, dip or ingredient with a fiery kick.”

The new hummus is vegan, certified kosher and free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.
