Demonstrating its commitment to providing safe and healthy selections to the savory flavors industry, Savoury Systems International (SSI), a leader in the savory enhancement industry, is proud to announce it has achieved additional product verifications from the Non-GMO Project.
In 2015, SSI received verified status for product #1000 Yeast Extract Low Salt High Protein. Recently SSI was awarded verification for two more products - #1105 Yeast Extract Enhancer and #1107 Low Sodium Autolyzed Yeast Extract.
The Non-GMO Project is North America’s most recognized verification organization for Non-GMO products made according to rigorous best practices for GMO (genetically modified organism) avoidance. Verified products are produced in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard - that means ongoing testing of all GMO risk ingredients, facility inspections and an annual audit to ensure the highest possible standards for GMO avoidance.
“Savoury Systems is and has always been wholeheartedly committed to creating safe enhancers for the savory flavors sector,” says Dave Adams, SSI founder and president. “That’s why we are very pleased to receive these additional verifications from the Non-GMO Project. As the debate on the inclusion of GMOs carries on, we’ll continue to offer Non-GMO alternatives so food producers can have the options their consumers may want.”
Savoury Systems offers a wide range of Non-GMO hydrolyzed vegetable proteins (HVPs) that include a gluten-free, corn-based formulation. All Savoury’s HVPs are vegetarian, and several are kosher and/or halal.
