WhiteWave Foods Co. said it's buying Wallaby Yogurt Company Inc. for about $125 million.
Wallaby was founded in 1994 and is based in American Canyon, California. It makes and distributes organic dairy yogurt products.
"The addition of Wallaby will strengthen and expand WhiteWave’s growing yogurt portfolio and provide entry into several fast-growing yogurt categories. The acquisition also provides WhiteWave with West Coast based yogurt manufacturing capabilities and other expansion and growth opportunities," the Denver company said in a statement.
It's the second big purchase for WhiteWave in the past two months.
In June, WhiteWave said it was buying powdered shake and snack bar company Vega of Canada for $550 million in cash.
