International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF), a leading global creator of flavors and fragrances for consumer products, today announced the opening of a new US flavors facility near Chicago.
Located in Schaumburg, Ill., the new site will serve the food and beverage processors located in the greater Chicago area. The facility houses a culinary center and state-of-the-art application and flavor creation laboratories. It will increase IFF’s application and technical footprint and be staffed with culinary, flavorist and product application teams closely linked to IFF’s regional and global R&D sites.
“Providing excellent support to our customers that allows for greater collaboration and increased speed-to-market is a priority for us,” says Andreas Fibig, IFF chief executive officer. “As the new office expands our coverage in the region, it simultaneously provides customers with local culinary, applications and flavors expertise along with access to our regional and global resources.”
Matthias Haeni, group president, Flavors, adds, “I am pleased that with the opening of this new facility, we can offer our customers a differentiated service model geared towards enhancing collaboration and building greater customer intimacy. This site is centrally located to many key customers in the Midwest region of the United States, and allows us to partner more closely with them to collaboratively build healthier taste solutions that help differentiate their brands.”
IFF continuously reviews its footprint to ensure it is investing appropriately to best meet customers’ needs.
For example, the company has made several large investments to support key markets over the last few years. This includes investment in Indonesia for a manufacturing facility and creative center; sales office and applications labs in Chile, the opening of a liquid flavors and fragrances manufacturing facility in Singapore; the construction of a new flavors creative center and expansion of the existing manufacturing site in Gebze, Turkey; and the construction of a new dedicated flavors plant in Guangzhou, China. In addition, the company opened new creative and technical facilities in Delhi, India; in Guangzhou, Beijing and Chengdu, China, and in Dubai, UAE.
