Trevor Bynum will join The Schwan Food Company on Jan. 27 as president of Schwan’s Food Service, Inc., bringing proven leadership, general management and marketing experience from the food industry.

As president of Schwan’s Food Service, Bynum will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the Schwan subsidiary. He will lead a team dedicated to providing high-quality products and service to the company’s foodservice customers, including schools, universities, restaurants, health-care facilities and convenience stores.

Bynum most recently served as the vice president and general manager of WhiteWave Foods Channels, where he was responsible for business with foodservice customers as well as club, drug and discount stores. He also has held leadership, general management and marketing roles with other WhiteWave Foods divisions and with General Mills.

He earned his master’s of business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He also served as an officer in the United States Army.

Schwan’s Food Service, Inc., a subsidiary of The Schwan Food Company, markets and distributes frozen-food products to public and private schools, universities, health-care facilities, convenience stores and chain restaurants through more than 1,800 active distributors. Well-established product lines include frozen pies and desserts, Asian and Mexican ethnic specialties, pizza and sandwiches. Some of its brands include Big Daddy’s, Freschetta, Villa Prima, Minh, Mrs. Smith’s, Edwards, Beacon Street Cafe and Wrapsters products.
