The news includes a shift for the goodnessKNOWS bar line, which will be expanded beyond the traditional fruit and nut offerings. Joining the line in 2018 are six savory flavors that officials describe as more of a balance between sweet and salty. With less than 150 calories per single pack, each flavor is designed to provide 10% to 15% of a consumer’s recommended nutrient needs, without added calories, added sugars or sodium. 

Just Scramble will be rolling out first in San Francisco and expanding to additional locations and cities in 2018.

There is opportunity to grow brunch occasions, as 40% of consumers eat brunch at least once a week.

Retail sales of nutritional shakes and bars reached $9 billion last year after rising at an annual rate of almost 10% over the preceding five years, reports market research firm Packaged Facts in the study Nutritional Shakes and Bars: US Retail Market Trends and Opportunities.
