Lycored, a global leader in ingredients for wellness, food and beauty, has appointed Shirley Cohen as its new CEO.
Cohen, who took up the role on October 1, 2020, has over two decades’ management experience in multinational companies. A trained industrial engineer, she began her career as a consultant specializing in improvement strategies in industries such as plastic and wineries. She also managed large-scale IT projects as a general manager at Tescom Ltd.
Prior to joining Lycored, Cohen spent 12 years as a member of the executive management team at Eden Springs International, a leading provider of water and coffee solutions for offices. As COO of the company, she expanded existing markets and developed penetration into new ones through organic growth and extensive merger and acquisition activities.
She also worked closely with manufacturing teams, gaining valuable insights into food safety and regulation, while enhancing the group’s customer-centric approach. Most recently, she was SVP for Eden Spring’s South European region.
At Lycored, she will oversee major expansion. The company recently announced that it is more than doubling its tomato-based lycopene production to meet unprecedented demand.
Shirley Cohen, CEO at Lycored, said: “This is a time of huge opportunity in the nutrition, food and beauty-from-within industries. But even more importantly, I’m excited to be joining a company with a genuine commitment to innovation and a fantastic team of dedicated professionals. These are the seeds of growth. I’m looking forward to working closely with Lycored’s partners and customers, supporting continuing growth, addressing future challenges and further building Lycored’s reputation and capabilities.”
Cohen replaces Rony Patishi-Chillim, who joined Lycored in 2014 and takes up the role of VP, Finance at ADAMA, Lycored’s parent company.
