Vivian Glueck, president of the Citromax Group of companies, announced that Dr. John Cavallo has joined the company as senior vice president, technology and commercial development.
Cavallo is an accomplished food and beverage industry executive with a global business scope that includes extensive experience in the flavor, extract, food ingredient and specialty chemicals segments. During his career, Cavallo has held senior management positions at Trilogy Essential Ingredients, Citrus and Allied Essences, Comax Manufacturing, Symrise, Haarmann & Reimer and Givaudan.
From October 2016 to May 2018, Cavallo served as President of the Flavor and Extracts Manufacturers Association (FEMA), the national association of the U.S. flavor industry. He was elected to FEMA’s Board of Governors in 2009. During his tenure as FEMA president, Cavallo oversaw significant changes to the organization’s operations and strategic vision.
At Citromax, Cavallo will interact with both the R&D and Flavor Departments, as well as senior management, to grow the scope of the company’s business and identify new opportunities in the global food and beverage ingredient marketplace.
Cavallo received his PhD in Physical Chemistry, Surface and Colloid Science from the City University of New York, as well as an MBA from New York Institute of Technology. In addition to his tenure with FEMA, he is a member of the American Chemical Society, the Institute of Food Technologists and NAFFS.
