Talenti® Gelato & Sorbetto launched Flavorize.Us, an online contest that blends consumers' social media personalities with their friends' profiles to generate a combined Talenti gelato flavor. Flavorize.Us offers participants the chance to have their flavor hand-crafted by Talenti founder, Josh Hochschuler.
"We're giving people and their friends the chance to create a gelato flavor unique to their friendship," said Hochschuler. "In the same way people's quirks and passions make up their personality, our ingredients make us uniquely Talenti."
Flavorize.Us Turns Relationships into Gelato Flavors
The algorithm connects to consumers' selected social media handles, scans their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook posts and applies a "flavor sentiment," such as sweet, sour, spicy, salty or bitter to each post. Word choice, emoji usage, punctuation and color play a role in determining each flavor. These sentiments are then paired with ingredients to create a personalized flavor such as Praline Hungarian Shortbread Mint or Pluot Sauvignon Blanc Nectarine.
Consumers have the option to invite their friends to join their flavor. With each added friend, the combination of ingredients evolves and creates a more complex, one-of-a-kind gelato flavor. With hundreds of available ingredients and more than 1,500 words assigned to flavor profiles, there is potential to generate over 145 million combinations.
