According to Ipsos, more than one-third of U.S. consumers are cutting back on soda consumption, and many are doing so in order to be healthier and decrease sugar and calorie intake. In fact, in 2013 alone there was a 9.5 million gallon increase in sparkling water and seltzer consumption, making it the fastest growing beverage category. In addition, 18% of that increase came from diet soda drinkers, while 16% came from people drinking regular soda.
