Boulder Brands may well be one of the least well-known purveyors of established brands in the marketplace. Focusing on specific health needs, the company is better known by its subsidiary brands, including Udi’s and Glutino (in the gluten-free segment); Earth Balance (offering plant-based options); Smart Balance (for those with heart-health demands); and Best Life’s weight-management products.
Glutino, for instance, has expanded into the arena of the quick breakfast with a range of gluten-free toaster pastries in strawberry and apple varieties, while Udi’s has added a trio of gluten-free granola bars (Chocolate Chip, Cranberry Almond and Ancient Grain) and cookies (Chocolate Chip Pecan, Salted Caramel Cashew and Peanut Butter Coconut).
The granola bars from Udi’s offer more than merely gluten-free as a selling point, however. The Cranberry Almond variety promises omega-3 (180mg of alpha-linolenic acid), while vitamin E, zinc and antioxidants are in the Chocolate Chip option. The Ancient Grain bars feature probiotic cultures (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30 6086).
