plumeria cookiesCookies are not only for celebrating anniversaries or birthdays, of course. In fact, Honolulu Cookie Co. aims to make a flower-shaped cookie a trademark of Mother’s Day. Taking inspiration from the plumeria, commonly used in making leis and traditionally given to visitors, the company launched a range of flower-shaped cookies.

“The plumeria not only smells beautiful but is a wonderful gesture of ‘Aloha,’ which served as our inspiration for Mother’s Day,” explained Ginger Waters, vice president of marketing at Honolulu Cookie Co.

Each of the five options in the line was filled with bouquets of flower-shaped shortbread cookies, baked from a traditional recipe and, according to the company, using ingredients and flavors native to Hawaii: macadamia nuts, Kona coffee, coconut and lilikoi (passionfruit) among them.
