For 21 years, Brown held various executive positions with Cargill Inc. and most recently worked as vice president, Business Manager in Wichita, Kan. He was responsible for Cargill’s rapidly growing cooked and processed meat business serving various market segments including foodservice and retail with emphasis on food service national accounts, regional chains, c-store, K-12, retail deli, meat and department and clubs. Prior to joining Cargill in 1992, he held various positions with other food companies.
In his new position, Brown will work closely with Edward B. Bleka, chief executive officer and founder, and the senior management team to further accelerate Quantum Foods’ growth and international expansion.
“Peter is a seasoned executive who has played an integral role in the development and implementation of Cargill’s operational strategy,” Bleka said. “His deep knowledge of our market segments and customer needs makes him an ideal candidate to help me lead Quantum Foods at this important time in our development,” he added.
While at Cargill, Brown was complex general manager of meat processing locations in Texas and Arkansas and was elected vice president in 1998. He held positions in operations, research and development, sales, and commercial management. Brown also served as a business excellence lead examiner with global accountability, and was selected to two high performance leadership development academies. He earned a BS in Food Science from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
