February 21/Seattle -- Cafe-quality, frozen coffee beverages for preparation at home are hitting retail shelves, in the form of Seattle's Best Coffee Frozen Coffee Blends.
Starbucks subsidiary Seattle's Best Coffee and specialty food manufacturer Inventure Foods, which has worked with T.G.I Friday's and Boulder Canyon Natural Food, created the new product to capitalize on the growing popularity of at-home blending and the rise of blended coffee drinks. In 2012, the market raked in $4.3 billion.
By spring 2013, Seattle's Best Coffee Frozen Coffee Blends will hit freezer aisles at grocery stores and mass retailers nationwide. Made with 100% arabica coffe beans, Seattle's Best Coffee Frozen Coffee Blends will come in four flavors: Coffee Chiller, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla, and Mega Mocha.
With the Frozen Coffee Blends packet, 8oz. of fat-free milk and the press of a blender, consumers should be able to enjoy the beverage in less than a minute. Made with 0g trans fat, 9g of sugar, and 130 calories per serving, the suggested retail price will range from $2.99-$3.49 per 8oz. package.
"The recent growth of iced coffee suggests that consumers no longer view coffee as just a morning routine," said Steve Sklar, senior vice president of marketing at Inventure Foods. "We see great potential for a delicious frozen coffee drink that can easily be made at home or at work any time of the day."
