A flavor manufacturer recently counted the salty caramel flavor as among the food and beverage industry’s key flavor trends to watch in the coming year. For that matter, another flavor house pegged spicy caramel as a flavor trend to watch over the course of 2012, and introductions would seem to bear these out. Caramel has highlighted many an introduction throughout the course of the year.

Now, a holiday introduction is joining the caramel-rich crowd. HP Hood LLC released a limited- edition Caramel Eggnog for the 2012 holiday season, building on caramel’s reputation as one of the top 10 flavors to watch in both “Sweet Flavors” and “Beverage Flavors.” pf
