January 14 -- Organic Alliance Inc. announced the successful completion of the acquisition of the AvocadoMan brand business from American Eagle Transport LLC (AET), Montreal, Canada. The agreement gives Organic Alliance, Inc. control of the brand and begins with shipments January 5, 2009. These will be the first revenue generated by the company to date. AvocadoMan Revenues for 2008 will more than double the $12,000,000 generated in 2007 according to the brand's former senior executive Stavros Daskos. The AvocadoMan products are grown and certified organic from Mexico under the AvocadoMan label and sold into retail grocery stores and foodservice markets primarily in Canada. The agreement ensures that all avocados grown and packed for the company internationally are AvocadoMan brand as evidence of high quality fully certified organic products. "We are excited about taking over this highly complementary AvocadoMan brand. AET has done an outstanding job of building AvocadoMan into a strong brand, as evidenced by the loyal following with our Canadian grocery store chains and foodservice customer base. The successful completion of this acquisition provides ORGC with a substantial platform from which to expand our organic product portfolio and will be used to begin selling into the U.S., Asian and European markets to buyers like COSTCO Wholesale, Shanghai Lotus Supermarket Chain Store Co., Ltd. and Rungis Terminal Market in Paris, France, in the near future," said Tom Morrison, company CEO.
