Gürkan has significant financial and food industry experience. He has worked in and around the food sector for the last 14 years and has participated in numerous acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships. He joins Campbell from Lehman Brothers, where for the last seven years he served as a senior vice president in its global consumer and retail group. At Lehman Brothers, his primary role as an investment banker was to lead mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions for leading food and beverage companies. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Gürkan spent four years at Nabisco Holdings Corporation as director of international business development and three years at Pepsi-Cola Company in its international mergers and acquisitions group. He began his career with the Koc Group, a global industrial company in Istanbul, Turkey.

Gürkan earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey, and his M.B.A. from Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
