Ajinomoto Co. plans to overhaul its food business, unifying its domestic and international operations by next April.

Two different in-house companies currently control the international and Japanese units of Ajinomoto's food business. These operations will be brought under the in-house firm that currently oversees the domestic processed food business.

Ajinomoto believes the change will boost efficiency by enabling it to make decisions and plot strategies faster.
