Mexican corn flour and tortilla maker Gruma has bought three maize tortilla producing plants in the U.S. for an undisclosed sum, the company said.
Gruma purchased the plants from U.S. agricultural company Cenex Harvest States (CHS).
The plants are located in New Brighton, Minn.; Railhead, Texas; and Phoenix. The purchases will increase the company's production capacity and allow it to take advantage of synergy in order to increase clients and distribution capacity.
The U.S. unit of Gruma, Gruma Corporation, operates in the U.S. under the brands Mission and Guerrero.
