Saputo Inc. announced changes in its senior management. Randy Williamson, currently president and chief operating officer of the Dairy Products Division (Canada), has advised the company that he will be retiring from his current position as of April 1, 2006. Following this date, he will act as a dairy policy advisor from time to time for the company. Three appointments which will be effective on April 1, 2006, also have been made by the company.
"I am very grateful to Williamson for his contribution to the growth and success of the Canadian Dairy Products Division, as well as for his cooperation as a member of the management team since February 2001," declared Lino Saputo Jr.
The company announced the following appointments effective April 1, 2006.
Dino Dello Sbarba will be appointed president and chief operating officer of the Dairy Products Division (Canada). Dello Sbarba has been with the company since 1990 and acted as president and chief operating officer, Cheese Division (Canada) from 2001 to 2004 and as president and chief operating officer, Cheese Division (USA) since April 2004.
Terry Brockman will be appointed president and chief operating officer, Cheese Division (USA). Brockman has been with the company within the Cheese Division (USA) since 1997 and occupied, since August 2001, the position of vice president, Human Resources for the Cheese Division (USA).
Claude Pinard, who has been acting as vice president, general manager of the Bakery Division since September 2005, will be promoted to the position of president and chief operating officer, Bakery Division. Pinard has been with the company since 2001 and formerly occupied the position of vice president, Communications.
Carmine de Somma will continue to act as president and chief operating officer of the Dairy Products Division (Argentina) and Messrs. Louis-Philippe Carriere and Pierre Leroux will continue in their current respective positions as executive vice president, Finance and Administration and secretary as well as executive vice president, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs. All presidents and chief operating officers, as well as the two executive vice presidents, will continue to report directly to Lino Saputo Jr., president and chief executive officer of the company.
With respect to the new senior management structure announced, Saputo Jr. stated, "I am very pleased that the expertise and experience of the company's human resources enables promotions from within and that this management team will continue to lead the company toward its objective of being a world-class dairy processor."
