McDonald's Corp. said it has appointed Jeffrey Schwartz, who has worked for the fast food giant for 37 years, as chief executive officer of McDonald's China. It said former chief Peter Tan had resigned earlier this month for personal reasons.
Before the appointment, Schwartz was senior vice president of McDonald's operations and franchising division.
The statement also cited McDonald's China president Guy Russo as saying the firm wanted to make China one of its top five markets, without giving further details.
Other management changes include the appointment of Gary Rosen as vice president and chief marketing officer for China. Rosen was previously McDonald's senior director of global marketing.
