Ismael Roig has joined the Archer Daniels Midland's (ADM) corporate finance department as vice president of planning and business development. In this newly created position, Roig will be focused on ADM's capital allocation framework, tracking the appropriate performance metrics for the company's operations and providing the financial analysis in support of future capital spending and acquisitions.
Roig is joining the company after spending 11 years with General Motors Corporation in various finance and control positions. Most recently, he was the controller at General Motors do Brasil in Sao Paulo. Roig joined GM's corporate treasury function in 1993 and held several positions, which included assignments in New York, Singapore and Brussels. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Reading in the U.K. and a Master of Science degree in engineering from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, also in the United Kingdom. Roig also received a MBA from The Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.
