Years of tepid sales quickly reversed with a COVID-19 pandemic that forced consumers into new work-at-home and eat-at-home routines. This certainly helped boost packaged breakfast food sales.
Americans still eat three main meals a day, according to new NPD Group research

It’s fact that U.S. consumers snack a lot — between meal snacking accounts for about a third of all eating occasions — but they continue to view the day as generally having three main meal occasions that align with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, according to NPD’s daily tracking of eating and snacking behaviors.
On October 25, 2011, the White House First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to her Chicago hometown to discuss the need for healthy foods in underprivileged communities. The event took place at a local redesigned Walgreens store on the city’s Southside, in an area known as a “desert community.”
