Lamb Weston Inc., Eagle, Idaho, introduced Mini Waffled Hash Browns, billed as a “mini mashup of magnificent proportions.” Officials say product developers created a “hash brown that eats like a waffle” for on-the-go snacking as well as all dayparts. 

Golden West Food Group debuted its newest creation, Hershey's Frozen Fruit, in a licensing partnership with The Hershey Company. The new line of products combines real fruit with chocolate.

McCormick Flavor Solutions announced the Flavor Forecast 24th Edition, the annual report illuminating the latest trends shaping the way people enjoy flavors worldwide to inspire future product innovations. With this year’s report, McCormick also shared its 2024 Flavor of the Year: Tamarind.

Q: What do you foresee as the biggest flavor trends coming to the forefront in 2024?
Soumya Nair: Flavor trends are deeply rooted in the changing consumer priorities and in the coming year consumers’ priority in wanting conscious, empowered and comforting foods will gain significance.

Applied topically, immediately after breading and prior to frying, this innovative functional protein system creates a micro barrier around the fried item, reducing the amount of frying oil absorbed into the breading, creating a crispier bite and better product quality. Now, food manufacturers can meet label claims and product attributes consumers desire while also achieving greater yields.

Ingredion Incorporated used SupplySide West 2023 to showcase its Kerr by Ingredion portfolio of fruit- and vegetable-based juices, purees, concentrates, essences, distillates and custom formulations (from both conventional and organic sources).
