General Mills Foodservice, Minneapolis, is helping K-12 school foodservice program spice up their à la carte offerings. This November saw the business introduce CinnaFuego Toast Crunch Cereal Bars. Officials say the 1oz equivalent grain cereal bars offer an on-trend “sweet heat” snack.

Individually wrapped, the 1.42oz shelf-stable bars require no prep and meet USDA Smart Snack and whole grain-rich criteria. They’re also free from high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors.
In addition, as à la carte items bring in 23% of K-12 foodservice revenue1, the new flavor gives schools an exciting new option to help drive participation and boost their bottom line, says General Mills.
