Mergers and acquisitions continue to reshape the food and beverage industry. Earlier this month, Glanbia announced that it would acquire SlimFast for $350 million, and Hearthside Foods made a move to acquire Greencore USA.
Here are a handful of acquisitions that have taken place in the past 30 days or so.
Duni acquires shares in BioPak Pty Ltd, a supplier of sustainable packaging in Australia and New Zealand
BioPak was started in 2006 with the aim of offering the most sustainable, environmentally adapted packaging on the Australian market. Owing to a highly demanded assortment built on fibers, cardboard and bioplastics as well as quick and efficient delivery process, BioPak has grown quickly to market leader in its field.
BioPak Pty Ltd has three subsidiaries and will be consolidated under the Business Area New Markets as part of Duni Group. BioPak will however remain a separate company and continue to trade as BioPak.

AIT Worldwide Logistics acquires cold chain forwarder WorldFresh Express
Global supply chain solutions leader AIT Worldwide Logistics announced that it has acquired WorldFresh Express, a Los Angeles-based freight forwarder specializing in perishable food products.
The acquisition of WorldFresh expands AIT's robust cold chain capabilities by adding specialized operational knowledge as well as a world-class 13,800 square foot temperature-controlled facility on the west coast of the United States with distinct zones to hold frozen, refrigerated and fresh foods.

UNFI completes acquisition of SUPERVALU
United Natural Foods, Inc. announced that it has completed the acquisition of SUPERVALU INC. for $2.9 billion. The completion follows the satisfaction of all closing conditions including approval of the transaction by SUPERVALU shareholders and receipt of all necessary antitrust approvals.
