The food and beverage industry continues to merge and fracture like automobile traffic and brittle bones. Landmark mergers and acquisitions have burst into existence in the past few months. Not the least of which is Conagra Brands move to acquire Pinnacle Foods for nearly $11 billion,
and International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.’s acquisition of Frutarom for approximately $7 billion.
Here are a handful of acquisitions that have taken place in the past 30 days or so.
Hola Nola® Foods acquires maker of Plocky's® Snack Chips
Hola Nola Foods acquired the assets of NatureStar Foods, makers of Plocky's brand Hummus Chips and Tortilla Chips.
Hola Nola Foods will maintain NatureStar Foods' Chicagoland area distribution facility to supply current and future customers throughout the Midwest. Paul Cipolla will act as a consultant to Hola Nola Foods and maintain long term customer relationships.

SnackNation Acquires Love With Food
SnackNation acquired EdgiLife and its brand Love With Food, a consumer insights and data analytics company with one of the nation's largest direct-to-consumer snack subscription services.
EdgiLife is the creator of a proprietary insights platform that enables emerging food, beverage and CPG brands to tap into valuable customer intelligence while placing products in the hands of the right hyper-targeted consumers. As a result of the acquisition, SnackNation is now able to serve hundreds of thousands of consumers through both the office and the home in every state across America. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Novacap, a Canadian private equity firm, announced it is acquiring an interest in Noble Foods Nutrition Inc., a manufacturer of nutrition and energy bars renowned for high quality innovative products and headquartered in Pointe-Claire, Québec.
Novacap plans to invest in the company's growth to help it expand into new markets.

Gladson Acquires Nutritionix

Brynwood Partners VII L.P.'s and Brynwood Partners VIII L.P.'s wholly-owned portfolio company, Cold Spring Brewing Company, announced that it had acquired 100% of the stock of Carolina Beverage Group, LLC from SunTx Capital Partners and other selling shareholders.
Carolina Beverage manufacturers its high-quality products out of its three strategically located state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities located in Cold Spring, Minn.; Mooresville, N.C. and Fort Worth, Texas.

Gallo Acquires Rancho Real Vineyard
An affiliate of E. & J. Gallo Winery (Gallo) announced it has purchased Rancho Real Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley appellation of Santa Barbara County.
Located along Highway 101, the 436-acre property sits 13 miles southeast of the town of Santa Maria. Rancho Real Vineyard was tailored specifically to its topography and soil types, and produces a variety of premium Burgundian and Rhône grape varietals, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, Pinot Gris, and Gamay, bringing the combined planted acreage to 211.
