Yummy Spoonfuls®, the maker of frozen organic baby and toddler food made from simple and fresh ingredients, announced the national expansion of its product line to deliver on its vision of redefining healthy eating for a new generation, available in nearly all Target stores nationwide.
Knowing that on a pound for pound basis, babies consume more food than adults, Yummy Spoonfuls believes fresh and organic ingredients are best for babies and tots. Yummy Spoonfuls’ nutritious USDA certified organic food is created with minimal processing to lock in flavor, color and nutrients. The company has developed a proprietary method that closely mimics “home cooking” in a state-of-the-art production facility. This custom process involves using only the freshest organic non-GMO ingredients, gently cooking them in small batches to maintain vital nutrients, vitamins, minerals and texture, then immediately flash freezing them to lock in freshness and nutrients.
“We are thrilled to be announcing the national launch of Yummy Spoonfuls, created for busy parents who want to feed their children fresh, organic, non-GMO food that contains no preservatives, additives or fillers but are not able to make it from scratch,” said Agatha Achindu founder of Yummy Spoonfuls. “The food you feed your baby today has a lot to do with their health now and in the future – we are making high quality, homemade, fresh-frozen organic food accessible and easy for families nationwide.”
Yummy Spoonfuls products offer 31 flavors across three product stages to meet baby’s needs from weaning through toddler years. “Our frozen organic baby food is inspired by the family recipes and exotic flavors of our childhood family farms in Cameroon and Brazil,” said Camila Alves, co-founder. “Parents no longer have to find themselves surrounded by bowls of purees and messy kitchens – our hope is that children will eat happily and learn good eating habits from their very first yummy spoonful, setting up the foundation for life-long healthy eating habits.”
Achindu and Alves first met in 2014, sharing a vision to make the wonderful organic taste and healthy nutrition of their own childhoods available to every family in the U.S. Achindu had been cooking up fresh, organic baby food in the Southeast Region under the Yummy Spoonfuls brand since 2006 and was on a search to grow her business. Together they are now forming a new company as 50/50 partners to take Yummy Spoonfuls to the national stage.
Also leading the company is CEO Alastair Dorward, an experienced entrepreneur with a passion for mission-driven businesses. As founding CEO of method products, Alastair led the business from an idea to over $100 million in revenue over eight years, working in close partnership with Target.
