KFC introduced KFC Nashville Hot Chicken, a new flavor of spicy chicken, inspired by the city that made it famous – Nashville, Tenn. KFC brings the spicy, smoky, crispy chicken to the United States at the chain’s 4,300 restaurants for just $5.49.
Previously, consumers had to live in Nashville or a major metropolitan city with a fancy restaurant to enjoy Nashville Hot. And, you needed to be prepared to spend a lot of money. KFC is now bringing Nashville Hot to the people, nationwide, at an affordable price.
To ensure KFC Nashville Hot Chicken was menu-worthy, KFC recently tested its “spicy bird with a savory burn” in 32 restaurants in and around Pittsburgh – chosen due to its mix of urban, suburban and rural customers, as well as different ethnic and cultural consumers. The reviews validated its crave-able flavor profile and great value, making KFC Nashville Hot the company’s most successful product testing in the company’s recent history.
“Nashville Hot Chicken is quite possibly the best spicy chicken ever made,” said Kevin Hochman, chief marketing officer KFC US. “It’s not like traditional hot wings that are just made with heat and vinegar. Nashville Hot is spicy, smoky and incredibly crispy. We think this will be the greatest spicy chicken introduction since the nationwide adoption of Buffalo wings in the 1980s.”
