June 5/Bradenton, Fla./St. Louis Business Journal -- SensoryEffects Flavor Systems officials said the company acquired the assets of Flavors From Florida Inc., a wholly owned business of Agrana Fruit US Inc. of Brecksville, Ohio. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Flavors From Florida is a supplier of flavor systems to dairy and beverage manufacturers in the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean. Located in Bartow, Fla., it specializes in fruit drinks, beverage flavor systems, frozen dessert bases, fruit purees and novelties. Flavors From Florida products will be transferred to the SensoryEffects manufacturing plant in Bridgeton, the company said.
SensoryEffects Flavor Systems, a supplier of ingredient and flavor systems and finished products for baking, cereals, frozen desserts, beverage, dairy and nutritional systems, is part of St. Louis-based Performance Chemicals & Ingredients Co. Majority owned by Dallas private equity firm Highlander Partners LP, Performance Chemicals & Ingredients Co. manages a group of food ingredient companies that also include Diehl Food Ingredients, SensoryEffects Inclusions and US Foods.
SensoryEffects Flavor Systems, led by CEO Charles Nicolais, is a five-year-old company that has manufacturing facilities in Bridgeton; Defiance, Ohio; Reading, Pa.; and Lincoln, Neb.
