On June 22, 2011, President Obama announced that a Global Summit to include both the G8 and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will be held in Chicago from May 15-22, 2012.  These dates directly overlap with NRA Show 2012, which was originally scheduled from May 19-22, 2012.

Per the NRA, meetings with the Chicago Mayor’s Office, the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau and McCormick Place have made it clear that the heightened level of security and extensive logistics required during the Summit will compromise NRA Show attendees' ability to have a productive and enjoyable show.

Therefore, organizers have changed the NRA Show dates to May 5-8, 2012, at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event (IWSB), held in conjunction with NRA Show 2012, will also move to new dates -- May 6-7, 2012.
