Pet Food Recall Expanded

May 3, 2007/Canadian Press/MISSISSAUGA -- The possibility of cross-contamination has prompted Menu Foods to expand its recall of wet cat and dog food.

In March, Menu Foods recalled about 60 million cans and pouches of pet food produced with wheat gluten supplied by ChemNutra Inc.

Menu Foods says it is now expanding the recall to include products which do not include ChemNutra wheat gluten, but were manufactured at Menu Foods plants during the period that the ingredient was used there.

Menu Foods says an updated list of the recalled products is available.
