Molson announced that Mark Hunter has been appointed chief commercial officer, Molson Canada. Hunter joins Molson Canada from Coors Brewers Ltd. U.K.
The new chief commercial officer role was created to enhance Molson Canada's go-to-market strategy. In his role, Hunter will have accountability for all brand marketing, media, Molson Sports & Entertainment activities and will incorporate market development responsibilities later this year.
"Through the Molson-Coors merger, the company now has access to a broader internal pool of talent, and Mark Hunter's experience and success in the beer industry will benefit the Canadian business unit," stated Kevin Boyce, president and chief executive officer.
Coming from Coors Brewers Ltd. in the U.K., Hunter was instrumental in building the strength of their brand portfolio, Coors notes. During his 16 years with the organization, he has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility including: brand director of Carling, marketing director with Bass Brewers Ltd. And, most recently, as marketing & international director.
Hunter will report directly to Boyce and will be based in Toronto, effective May 9, 2005.
