Vikram Luthar has been elected vice president-treasurer at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). In his new position, he will be responsible for ADM's global treasury operations and be responsible for the day-to-day liquidity and risk management, including foreign exchange, interest rate and counterparty risk. Luthar's broader responsibilities will include executing a long-term capital plan for ADM's consolidated global operations and overseeing ADM's global pension funding and asset management. Luthar also will be responsible for ADM's relationships with banks and the rating agencies.
Luthar has had several years of treasury and international finance experience, including spending 11 years with General Motors Corporation in various treasury positions. Luthar served most recently in Singapore as regional treasurer of GM's Asia Pacific operations and also held various corporate treasury assignments with GM in New York before moving to Singapore. Luthar received a Bachelor of Technology degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
